What is it? This package provides: - kernel mode driver to make calls into the Toshiba Hardware Configuration Interface (HCI) from user space. - toshd, a daemon that uses the tosh_hci driver to listen for the brightness hotkeys and adjust the brightness of the lcd. Once OpenSolaris supports suspend on x86, I'll extend this utility so that the appropriate hotkeys trigger the suspend mechanism. Installation: # make install This will build and install the driver and the utility. # reboot -- -r This will cause solaris to rebuild its device database. When the machine has rebooted: # make finish This will load the driver and register toshd with smf(5) so that it runs at boot time.
