Home Theater UI

Issue #51 resolved
Former user created an issue

First - Thank you for a very cool app. I am using a Favi SmartStick (Android dongle) with a TV. I don't know if you intended it or not but Serviigo is one of the best apps to use with Serviio for a home theater. I am also using a Favi bluetooth keyboard for a remote. I have also tried using a bluetooth mouse and it works well too.

I am writing with 2 requests I think would help make Serviigo better for the home theater. The first is that I be able to set video to play at the highest resolution by default instead of having to select it every time as I have no bandwidth considerations. My second request is that the key and mouse buttons have the following mappings:

Play media key or space / left mouse button - plays the video (Play should also work in the video detail screen)

Enter / right mouse button - takes you to the detail metadata screen

Thanks for a great App!

    I've implemented a number of keyboard/remote control changes for 3.0 Beta 4.

Play now launches the video from the list/grid or details view. If you don't have a default quality set, it pops up a dialog asking you which one to use. I've hidden the play action item for devices without touch screens, as they should all have media keyboards.

Enter takes you to the details.

I've left space, as its used in other places, so want to keep things consistent. I don't have the hardware to do mouse keys, they might work now.

Left/Right can be used to navigate between view objects in the details view (image/video), forward/back, next/previous/, fast forward/rewind changes the video/image. Before it wasn't possible to get to some of the action items as left/right took priority.

Info key can be used to launch the music player, and to view details of a image in the slideshow.

Navigating around in the audio player doesn't interfere with the seek bar. I'll implement seeking via fast forward/rewind for 3.0 final.
