Global term blueprint not available after installing trial

Issue #28 resolved
Janne Jaula created an issue

As there is no term blueprint, trying to create a term fails (opens template dialog and wait cursor just rolls infinitely).

Would really like to trial your product and consider it for purchasing, but we’re stuck before we could create the first term… 😞

Seems like that was my bad… generated and pasted the licence and it started working.

Can’t get these to do anything though. Seems like if I go and change them to active, confirm and leave the page, when I come back they’ve reseted to disabled.

Ok, have you considered an option to force collection of terms in their own glossary repository (like smart terms does this) or under a certain page branch (not sure tho if confluence mechanics would allow this).

Freedom is nice but this is somewhat cumbersome when terms just appear randomly where ever user was when they saw a term they wanted to define.

Also another thing I hoped would work differently was auto highlighting vs no auto highlighting (latter pretty much disabling whole feature until highlight terms menu option was turned on. Auto-highlight “on hover” was what I hoped this did (so the terms are defined and act as hot spots unless they were disabled completely, if highlighting was set to on hover, the text would not get automatically highlighted but highlight and pop up was still produced if user moved mouse pointer on a defined term.

(I know I can work around this somewhat by changing the highlight colour as transparent, but then I don’t have option to check all terms from a page with highlight menu item).

    Hi Janne,

Yes, term is enforced to be created under “Terms” page for the current space.

I add your requirement about highlighting to our backlog. I will return back to you for further information if needed.

    Many thanks for your collaboration.

    Best regards,

    Jennifer

No, they appear there only in special corner case, normally when you add a term by highlighting it from a text block, it will appear right under the page where you pointed out the term to be defined. Also, nothing prevents users just using create content menu and selecting term template there, which will result in terms appearing just below the page they were before clicking create content button.

This is somewhat difficult for average user and will cause term pages just appear here and there across confluence.

Smart terms handles the glossary pages like confluence blog functionality does, not allowing users to determine where in their hierarchy they appear. When you create a blog page (or smart terms term), it will appear to that space’s news section (or term bank) given that you have permission to do this.
