SEN-20364534 - Clarification on Changing Issue Type Name in JIRA from Bug To Defect

We are on JIRA DC v9.2.0 hosted on three nodes with MS-SQL 2016 as Database.

Currently, we have many issue types defined in JIRA. My query is around one issue type. We have an Issue Type called Bug. There are closed to 550K issues with Issue Type = Bug. Do note that this issue type use different workflow, screens, field configurations etc across different JIRA projects. Now, as per management direction, we need to rename/ change existing Issues for which Issue Type is Bug to Defect. Basically to rename existing issue type from Bug to Defect so that this change is reflected for existing as well as new issues.

I have reached out to Atlassian & they suggested potential areas where JIRA will have an impact. For impact on plug-ins/ add-ons side, they asked me to reach out to plug-in vendors directly.

So, based on above scenario, can you let me know if there is any potential impact to your plug-in/ plug-in data (existing or new) inside in any way? If yes, what it is & how to identify and handle it.
