Incorporate author feature so preachers can receive notification of comments

WordPress automatically notifies authors of posts whenever a (moderator approved) comment is made on one of their posts. It would be helpful to incorporate that feature into SM so that preachers are notified when (approved) comments are made on their sermons. This can be done by somehow tying the preachers to active user accounts and then listing them as authors of the custom post type.
