Coastlines not properly shown in MSS and MSWMS

For this configuration of the map view:

    "03 Asian Summer Monsoon small (cyl)": {"CRS": "EPSG:4326",
                                      "map": {"llcrnrlon": 45.0, "llcrnrlat": 0.0,
                                              "urcrnrlon": 135.0, "urcrnrlat": 50.0}},

neither the MSUI nor the MSWMS server shows proper coastal boundaries. A slight change of map boundaries lets them appear.

Problem is present for both matplotlib 1.x and 2.0.

Maybe its a basemap issue?
