   You have downloaded the source distribution of package X-Symbol.  It is
intended to be used by developers.  As a user, you should probably use the
binary distribution.

   If you want to produce & compile all lisp files, produce the info files
and produce & compile & install the font files, check the Makefile and
invoke
     make -k all

   If you want to do the things above and install X-Symbol in your
~/.xemacs/xemacs-packages/, check the Makefile and invoke
     make test
