there should also be a layer where if a given URL (of a stream) is actually a playlist it'll automatically play the first item - ie the playlist parser from the above should be reused

I am on a Mac, trying to stream either directly to a Samsung TV, OR a xBox360... whichever works first/best. I would like to know if there is iTunes playlist support / fix wherein I can view/play playlists I have created in iTunes

I would love to see this as well. Personally, I don't need anything fancy. The only thing I really need is for the TV show episodes to sort by Episode order.

I can handle browsing my movies by just going to the movies folder. I can handle browsing TV shows by going to the TV folder, going to the show folder, selecting the season folder, etc. But to watch the episodes in the right order I need to look them up somewhere.

Everything else is just gravy from my perspective.

I have a playlist in *.m3u format that contains entries for more than 1300 musicvideos. The entries start with the name of the artist enclosed in a parenthesis and the playlist has been randomized so that the the entries are not in alphabetical order. Please consider playlists that point to files which are not just music files.

Ditto on the playlist thing, will go back to Wild Media Server for the moment. Will check in regular basis and when playlists are working will switch back to Serviio, love the simplicity of the interface.

Playlist support is really needed. It's hard for me to believe you have so many other things up and running but not playlist support.

Just wanted to note that you would be doing a great service if you include the option to dynamically shuffle the playlist order when it is served to a requesting device. There are a lot of devices out there that don't have a basic shuffle option when playing from DLNA. Please consider including this when playlists are implemented.

iTunes playlist support would be awesome! Ideally I would just like to be able to add the path to my iTunes library file as a music source, and have Serviio parse out the playlists. It could show up as a separate item in the music menu ("Playlists") and then all of them could be shown there.

iTunes support will come later, currently works with m3u, pls, asx and wpl files.
