Seems it doesn't keep histotic files (.1, .2 etc)

- changed status to open
caused by console looking at the same file and locking it. Console needs its own log file

Actually just upgrading to log4j 1.2.16 should help as it seems to have been fixed: https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=41735
