I've played with this last weekend and MediaInfo.sec is now passed but it didn't make any difference.

Therse are Samsung specific tags in the server's device description, Serviio now has all of them but DMC10 - which causes the TV to look for predefined containers that only the Samsung's server supports. Looks like that might be one of possible solutions (if the OSD menu is part of the DMC menu experience). There is also Samsung specifig method X_GetFeatureList on ContentManager UPnP service, but the TV doesn't seem to call that (it looks like that might actually configure the DMC containers).

Oh thank you so much for working on this! I was just about to post on the forums about it.

I know it may not seem like such a big deal but you could imagine subtitle support is fundamental in the whole non-anglo world. One of the reasons I'm so happy with Serviio so far.

I hope you can implement this, the samsung's ability to change encoding and delay on subtitles would be awesome for a lot of people.

Thanks for all your work, zip.

Petr, thanks for your work regarding this feature so far.

Unfortunately I don't have an access to the DLNA specs so I'm not able to help you with technical deatails. I can only hope that implementation of media controller tag functionality you mentioned will solve the problem - assuming it is possible. In the meanwhile I can assist you with additional Wireshark traces if you want. I can also try running some special debug builds assuming you don't have an access to Samsung TV (e.g if DMC10 implementation won't help maybe "same filename for both movie and subtitles" workaround that I proposed earlier will do the job :)

    Best Regards

This is now working for Samsung C series, will not implement for A/B series as it doesn't support configurable menu in DMC10 mode
