Series order (Aired vs DVD)

Issue #295 new
Former user created an issue

A lot of Series which are release on DVD have a different play order to when they are aired on TV. Serviio currently uses only the Aired series order when doing series lookups although the DVD lookup is also available on “theTVBD”. Could you modify the series lookup to look for maybe "DVD" in the parent folder or file name to indicate to use the DVD order.

IE c:\Series\FireFly-DVD\S01E01-Serenity.avi (DVD Order) c:\Series\FireFly\S01E01-The Train Job.avi (Default Aired Order)

As a number of series run for 5 or more season and can have 26 or more episodes that is a lot of possible incorrect lookups which need to be manually adjusted. (Stargate SG1 is 10 Seasons with 26 Episodes in each… Then had specials as well)

Any update on this? I came across this with Serenity. I also know this would be an issue with Crusade.

In theTVDB they do DVD episodes like 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 instead of 1, 2, 3 so hopefully if someone names a file Serenity-s1e1.0 you would do a DVD lookup. Any hope of getting this in? If not can you point me to a way to manually adjust this in the Serviio DB?

    Hi Petr.

Any Update on DVD order and Aired order for Series lookup ? I noticed that TheTVDB.com has had a re-jig and now has some Series which don't have an aired orders only a DVD order (Clarkson: The Specials). I have a number of Series on DVD now which had a completely different order to the Aired order so being able to specify DVD order would be a really nice touch. I noticed that XBMC when you set up your series has a DVD or Aired order option so I am assuming there must be an option in the API as XBMC uses TheTVDB.com as well.

Loving Serviio 1.2 Pro the extra features in the Pro version make it well worth the money.
