Accept .tbn files as video thumbnails

Issue #517 resolved
Former user created an issue

Hi,

XBMC, along with tools such as MediaCompanion create .nfo files, along with associated -fanart and thumbnail.

The thumbnail is of jpg format (as far as I've seen), and has the same name as the video, and a .tbn extension.

Would it be possible to please use the .tbn file as the thumbnail if one is found?

As it stands, all videos do not have albumart due to this issue...

Thanks in advance,

It's great that this is done however the latest XBMC (v12 Frodo) no longer creates .tbn files but instead creates file with these names: Frodo Local images which works as-is for movies in folders but not when the are not in folders. Currently all movies without a tbn file have the image of the last jpg in the folder with the word 'poster' in it which in my case is 'Up (2009)-poster.jpg'. See Support for *.tbn from (XBMC).

To fix look for a file [moviename]-poster.jpg or [moviename]-poster.png e.g For 'Up (2009).mpg' look for 'Up (2009)-poster.jpg', for 'Astro Boy (2009).mkv' look for 'Astro Boy (2009)-poster.jpg'
