Denon '08 recivers showing "--empty--"

The '08 Denon recievers (3808 & 4308) show "--empty--" when connecting to Serviio. Doing wiresharks on the connection, Serviio is returning folders, using the container class. Running a wireshark on Plex media server (which works with the Denon) shows it using container.storageFolder class instead.

Forcing Serviio to use the container.storageFolder class by setting "Audio" and "-Folders" to "Display Content Only" does make the Denon display "mp3 [Audio/Folders]" when connecting to the server instead of saying "--empty--". Howerver, trying to go further into the folder structure results in showing "--empty--".

This would be a great addition to Serviio. Not sure how hard this is to implement. I can tell you that other DLNA servers work with my Denon 4308. Serviio has (or will have) features that make me want to see Serviio become a complete DLNA server and run on my FreeNAS 8 box one of these days.

I would also love to see this issue solved. I am a newbie and not sure how Bitbucket works. I am not a programmer, but can do simple things if told how. I have successfully used my Denon 4308 CI with Twonky Media Server and PV Connect. But I need to use a new storage server running Windows Storage Server 2008 R2, and was hoping Serviio could provide the media. Serviio works well on this setup with my PS3, but my Denon gives the same "empty" folders described above. Any help would be welcome!

I want to test it too. My model is Denon AVR-X1000. I see my Serviio server in Denon configuration but streaming is very low quality: 1frame/5s and no sound.

I am also owner of Denon AVR-3808CI. Like others I had no luck getting it to work Serviio. It finds server just fine but when I select it shows "---- empty ----". I would be interested in trying latest profile from 1.3 or whichever is available.

I don't know how far the testing has gone on this. I finally got my NAS up and running again. It runs Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. If this is compatible with the fix that has been made, I would be happy to test it.

I just need instructions for how to do this. Please advise.

Just tried 1.4 beta and I am happy to report that I was able to play audio from Serviio on my Denon AVR-3808CI, no more "---- empty -----" message. Definitely great news. Thanks Petr!
