Audio playlists - problem with accents in filenames for m3u playlists

I've encountered a problem for m3u playlists whereby songs titles/directory names containing accents aren't supported and don't appear in the playlist. Wpl playlists work fine. I've raised this as a Major bug as it could be a fairly big issue for any non-English users (with lots of song titles containing accents) who don't want to use Windows Media Player and wpl playlists.
