Account Deleted Yes, really need this feature. "All tracks" in Artist and Album Artist.
-
Yes, please, this would make this the perfect audio app for me

Account Deleted I was just about to add a request for this, and am glad I searched first. :-)
This is a feature that I really enjoy on the Xbox 360 client (built-in to Xbox 360 I presume i.e. "Play Artist"). My other DLNA clients do not have this handy feature and would greatly benefit from this. This is especially useful in the day and age where some people like to pick'n'mix individual track purchases from iTunes, etc, rather than entire albums.
A virtual playlist or album that appears top of the list after selecting an Artist would be ideal. Ideally this feature should not appear on the Xbox 360, as it would double-up on what already exists. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Bump on the virtual album. But could this same approach should be applied to "genre" and definitely incorporate "random" functionality.

Hey there, I just downloaded Serviio 1.7 and tested my app. I had previously been beta testing the app for Will Lunniss that added the All Music Tracks to the app without the update to 1.7. Now that 1.7 apparently does that for us, I have a real problem with the way the All Music is sorted. Rather than sorting in alphabetical order by track, it’s still sorting by album and then by track order which doesn’t really make any sense. It really needs to sort by track name. Is this something that can be fixed? The beta app fix worked fantastically and this feels like it’s a step in the wrong direction. Thanks.
-
Also, I just noticed that All Music only exists for Artists and not for Album Artists in the app although it exists for Mediabrowser.
-
repo owner Hi, please raise this with the app developer on the serviio forums.
-
Can you please tell me specifically which forum to post it on? Should it go under Third Party Applications?
-
repo owner Yes, or there is ServiiGo topic there. Alternatively PM will directly.
-
Ok, I posted there and sent Will and email, do the forums give you the ability to directly message a person like Will?
-
Petr, I do actually want to make it clear that the issue with the sorting of tracks in the All Music category is not only an issue with the App, it also happens in the Mediabrowser and on televisions so I believe this is something that should be addressed within the new functionality of 1.7, tracks are sorting by album instead of alphabetically and to make it useful it really needs to be alphabetical. Whatever Will did in the Beta App is exactly how the functionality should work. Thanks
-
repo owner Ah ok. But wouldn't you want to listen to the tracks as they appear on the albums? They often have a meaning the way they are sorted, to tell a story, etc.
Why would alpha ordering make any more sense?
-
Petr,
If you want to listen to tracks in album order, you would open the album and llisten that way. The artist already has it’s tracks grouped by album. The whole point of including an All Music option is to find a specific song by an artist if you don’t know what album it’s on or don’t care, just want to find the track. For example, I have hundreds of songs by the Beatles including tracks that may be on singles, or on soundtracks or are rarities and it’s not convenient to find it by what album it’s on, it is much easier to go to the All Music and be able to find the track by it’s name when the tracks are alphabetical. By sorting them by album and then by track order in the All Music bucket, you are basically just replicating the functionality that already exists, just eliminating the segregation by album. I believe what users were requesting was a way of viewing songs by an artist independent of their album, year or track order, just to make it easier to find a specific song by a specific artist.

repo owner Ok, can you pls create a new ticket covering this for 1.8?
-
Has to wait for 1.8, huh? Ok, is there a 1.8 thread to post it on?

Thanks very much, hopefully that’s not too tough of a change.

The -all- functionality is great but is there a reason that it wasn't added to to genre?
