slow to turn display status off and slow Fit plot when display status is on

When I click Display status in the plot window, it turns on quickly. But when I uncheck the box, it takes about 12 second to go away, and I get the spinning disk. Same when I have zoomed into the plot and then press fit plot, with status display on. It takes about 12 seconds to redraw, with spinning disk. This problem is for a file where I have 2000 frames tracked. It is faster with fewer frames.
