XROMM_MayaTools / PSDR

PSDR stands for (Pan Scan Drag and Resize)

This tool enables user movement of camera plane/view without impacting actual camera position (eg. when cameras are locked as in xCams).

When using PSDR, the cursor turns to a hand. There are three main functions of this tool:

  • Pan/Scan: Left mouse + Ctrl (both Mac and PC) button will allow panning without actual translation of the camera
  • Drag: Holding down middle mouse button and dragging left and right will decrease and increase transparency of the shader selected using PStrn.
  • Resize: Holding down left mouse button and dragging left and right will allow zoom (right, zoom in; left, zoom out).

Be sure to only use PSDR when needed and switch back to the select tool (hotkey: Q) when done. PSDR can have unwanted effects elsewhere in your Maya scene.
