Hyperspace jump - Tunnel effect missing
Is it possible in later date to ad hyper jump tunnel effect like they did in the movies instead of the stars being lines. Kind of like they did in XWA as well. I know this is a very minor issue, but would be neat to see.

It's not so much that the tunnel needs to be instead of the lines, but both things at the same time.
A jump into hyperspace starts with the stars becoming lines, then quick flash to white, then purplish tunnel.
A drop from hyperspace starts with the purplish tunnel, then quick flash to white, then lines becoming stars.

I thought the Battlefront VR approach was interesting, where the tunnel gives way to the 3D scene in the centre, and then around it (see 6:10 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rm8sbstvr4). I wonder if that was intentional on their part, or if it was required due to VR constraints (motion sickness?)

No idea, but I think their hyperspace effect kind of sucks because it seems to gather a whole collection of inconsistencies:
-
At the beginning, when the stars become lines and the tunnel is about to appear, you can see the center of the galaxy being faked with what looks like a sun? Also, the galaxy backround just stays there unaffected, while stars are getting distorted by the hyperspeed? The lines represent stars moving real fast past the ship. How is the rest stationary?

When coming out of the tunnel, as you mention, you can see the scene already, the asteroids and everything, even when it's obvious that you should be moving at hyperspeed and the asteroids couldn't be already there. The stars are still lines and the asteroids are already there!

When the tunnel disappears and you see the lines shrinking back to stars, they do it in the wrong direction. It's like they were moving backwards and stopping instead forward and stopping. This scene in Return of the Jedi does it right: https://youtu.be/TbTxEyYp6Qs?t=10s . Also right in The Force Awakens: https://youtu.be/EclGfgIgQh0?t=46s . I insist, the stars look like lines because they are flying past the ship at high speed. It makes absolutely no sense that they shrink backwards.
In general, I think that Battlefron VR hyperspace was very cheap and uncaring for the details. And yes, I know many of these mistakes were in the original games too, but a past mistake doesn't make a present one right.
EDIT: I just noticed that you can see even stars drawn on top of the asteroids in the Battlefront video. That is really sloppy.

Yeah, that's fair criticism - in fact, having just watched the videos you linked, I'm in full agreement with you. The films do the hyperspace effect much better.
Rogue One also did a nice job with the hyperspace effects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R7VPgcUJ_Q (potato quality)

Work on a hyperspace tunnel did start about 9 months ago (?), but hasn't been completed yet. Thanks for bringing that up again. :)
