TOD3M01 - T/B Behaviour A/B comparison
Above is an A/B video comparison for behaviour of T/B group Delta in TOD3M01 (Guard Weapons Transfer). (XWVM Build 20171001 and X-Wing 98)
For reference, this group has the following properties:
-
Status: Normal
-
AI: Ace
-
IFF: Default
-
Color: Red
-
Form: Echelon Right
-
Order: Attack Freighters (includes CRVs)
Noted differences/possible bugs:
-
In XWVM, when evading, multiple ships in the F/G evade at the same time and in the same pattern. They are also much more responsive to incoming lasers - arguably too much - compared to X-Wing 98.
-
In X-Wing 98, the F/G makes use of strafing for dodging, but not in XWVM
-
In XWVM, the retreating craft goes to the "Entering hangar" order at a very far distance, rather than remaining in the "Flying home to X" order until the appropriate distance (guess: somewhere around 0.5k?)
-
The F/G formation appears differently between X-Wing 98 and XWVM.

Very good video! The AI in the original only break off upon taking a certain amount of damage. In XWVM, it seems they break off the second they receive any sort of damage. We are trying to determine how much damage that is specifically.
-
I've determined that AI with shields will back off after taking 4 laser hits.
EDIT: AI with no shields (like TIE Bombers or a shielded craft that lost its shields) will back off after taking 3 laser hits.
AI Rank does not matter nor type of ship.
