Joystick Throttle input not transversing full range of throttle speeds

Issue #258 resolved
Unvetted created an issue

Both my X-52 Pro and X-56 Throttles don't input the full throttle range. I am able to only adjust from about 20% to 80% throttle. Am never able to select a speed of zero or max with the throttle slider axis. Tried calibrating and adjusting zero. I also tried assigning a different axis to the Throttle slider and have same results. Keyboard input works fine.

I too have an X52 pro and I've set up the throttle with no issues. I just want to make sure that your config (specifically where it says "Throttle Slider" and the throttle binds) is setup in a similar way. On the first screenshot I pulled my throttle all the way back to 0. Then I simply pushed my throttle forward on the next screen. After that I had no issues with throttle.

EDIT: I didn't have to do any calibrations either, but make sure that windows sees that your throttle can go all the way down.

That's exactly how I configured the throttle for the controller. The Windows game controller properties shows Z Axis has full range. The X52 works fine in other games, but I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also deleted and reinstalled XWVM, too. One thing I noticed is that after re-installing XWVM the throttle initially had a range of 0 to 50%. But as I tried other axis for the throttle slider setting the range changed, some were 20 to 80% others were 50 to 75%. Nothing I tried gave me full range.

Furthermore, I plugged in a set of Thrustmaster rudder peddles and assigned an axis to throttle and had similar issue with throttle range. However, one thing I noticed is if I had the X52 throttle bound to throttle slider at the same time the Thrustmaster was bound and used them both at the same time I got nearly full range. They seemed to have a cumulative affect.

    Any other ideas?

I've found out that XWVM stores the mappings to the registry. This means that even if you uninstall XWVM, it will keep the bindings there. It also stores throttle information as well. What I would like you to do is to click on "Restore Defaults" at the top left of the mapping screen. Then redo the throttle binding process and see if that fixes the issue.

Restoring Defaults from the Remap Controls screen didn't work. However, I did resolve the issue by scanning through the registry and deleting the keys that related to input configuration for XWVM. Afterwards I rebound the throttle slider to my X52 and am now able to fully traverse 100% of the throttle range. Thanks for your assistance.

I'm glad to hear that the issue is resolved. The registry mappings are a temporary solution which will be changed in the future.

Marking as resolved as per previous comments.

Note that settings will now be stored in a JSON file in the config directory (appdata\Roaming\XWVM)
