Having some sort of generic cockpit in the long would make sense, once modding and other stuff is supported.

Well, not that trivial, since different cockpits have different amount of instruments to represent laser cannon charge and ready state, warhead launcher counters and lights...

What if they want to pilot a Star Destroyer with its many turrets? Hmm

Is it possible to use an overlay like turning off the cockpit in x-wing? Something like that is fine and would be useful in-game

Working on creating a default overlay cockpit for ships without cockpits, or for those players that choose to use it regardless.

Fixed: Overlay cockpit "stand-ins" will now show along with the cockpit/ship geometry. Pure overlay cockpits will hide the ship's geometry. Fixed: Issue #95: Ships without a cockpit should load a default or none
