not allowing me to move the bar from the center of my screen and the /mpd commands will not work.

The command is /mpb not /mpd, and generally one would do: /mpb unlock to unlock the addon. This will add a bright green dot you can use to drag with. Once you have it where you want it, you do /mbp lock to keep it in place. Note that to use slash commands, you have to be at the channel prompt (i.e., hit enter first, like you were going to use chat, then do the slash commands).
