Steps to reproduce:

  1. Fresh mercurial installation

  2. Clone https://someproject.googlecode.com/hg

  3. Commit some changes to local repository

  4. Open 'Synchronize' window and click 'Push'

Expected: dialog popup requesting username and password

Actual result:

Commit window output

[Push started]

pushing to https://someproject.googlecode.com/hg/

searching for changes

2 changesets found

[Error: abort: http authorization required]

[Operation completed. Exit code: -1]


User should be able to specify default username and password for local repo clone

    I can't find a way to intercept authorization request from mercurial. Looks like it is only possible from python.

    Right now you can use repository .hgrc file to specify user/password in url notation.
