I had to use the statement: Base.metadata.create_all(engine)

I think it needs to be added in the tutorial.

the tutorial is a working Python program via doctest. the create_all() is right inside: http://www.sqlalchemy.org/docs/ormtutorial.html#define-and-create-a-table .

We can add a reminder at the end of http://www.sqlalchemy.org/docs/ormtutorial.html#creating-table-class-and-mapper-all-at-once-declaratively perhaps.
