Mike Bayer repo owner created an issue 2007-07-24

this is stepz' more generalized, instrumented-connection approach to sharding as well as in-process replication schemes. ~~#618~~ is the quick "sharding" framework. this framework may replace 618's approach or may complement it.

we have also now have ProxyConnection which can help in this area, for statement rerouting purposes (which is one of the use cases inspiring this ticket).
