Is editing GP/Dicktator material possible?

Issue #1402 invalid

I’m talking colors, effects, bumps etc.

Since both gentials are ultimately covered by the geoshell and its uv map, is there a way to edit them in blender?

Or is the only choice to edit them in daz studio before importing them?

    You can edit the underlying skin materials, all at once, with the material editor. As for the shell node group, there should only be one or two of those (the shell groups in the geograft materials should use the same node tree, at least if you have merged materials), so you can edit one shell group with Blender’s native tools and the others should be changed too.

    @Alessandro Padovani Understood.

    @Thomas Larsson Oh, I didn’t even bother looking at the add-on material section at all. But neither editors are changing the dicktator material at all. Removing the Dicktator shell node works except of course then the texture is gone. What am I missing here?

    I figured it out. I had to go into the furthur into the node group of Dicktator Shell node and make changes there.

    Is this something DAZ Importer material editor can do? Editing inside a node group?

    The material editor is designed to edit the base materials, not the shells. But you can merge materials or make udims or stack shells, so there are options to simplify the daz materials. As for stack shells the docs are not up to date yet, see #1295 #1316.

    If there’s nothing to add please close as invalid.
