Another invite to test my functionality and add it to your own

Issue #1595 wontfix
Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz created an issue

It's a very strong DAZ auto import using your API…

I really tested it a lot,

So as always if you like it then you could just have whatever code AND ideas

you guys are so awesome like Daz Studio is so…anyway I could do to help…

Improve that universe!!!

I think as it stands now I really have created the fastest way to output DAZ animations

You would have to watch the whole video to see the whole process

but I also got a replica button to open up replica and Google transcribe for txt file but beware of weird accents

Here is a link to a youtube tutorial I made on it https://youtu.be/fiAXQEYvEp4

here is a link to the website again https://toapyandfriends.gumroad.com/l/fast

AND the free code if anybody finds this too, think of it as a gift: toapy-and-friends-half-off-no-just-kidding-free-code

Anyways even if you don't think of incorporating it I will be updating it this A LOT so you can get a lot of good use out of this

I put it under major proposal 'cause this is really really cool!🙂👍

Unless I miss something. It seems to me that “your” addon on gumroad is just a bundle of diffeomorphic with the solid mode plugin. The difference is solid mode is default in your bundle. Personally I don’t see anything great about it, as already explained solid mode is intended as a quick preview in blender, then you go to material preview that especially in 3.5 is improved a lot. Anyway, again your enthusiasm is appreciated.

Then Thomas may have a different opinion.

p.s. I am also not sure if you can sell a modified version of diffeomorphic without permission, but this is a license concern for Thomas to care of. For example Xin sells on gumroad his own HD addon which requires diffeomorphic, and he adds great extra features but doesn’t bundle diffeomorphic, that seems more correct to me.

There was a page with license info on the old home page, but it seems to have vanished along the road. I uploaded it on the new wiki and added a link from the main page: https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/License information.

    Code License:

The code of the DAZ importer is released under the FreeBSD license. A detailed statement can be found in the linked page, but in short you can do what you want with the code, but I bear no responsibility.

    Asset License:

The purpose of the DAZ importer is to transfer assets from DAZ Studio to Blender. Any license holders of the original assets, be it DAZ3D or some third-party contributor, keep of course their license rights after the asset has been imported into Blender. If you intend to use the assets in such a way that license issues are important, please check with the original license holders first.

@Alessandro PadovaniI think maybe I didn't represent myself Right my add on provides 200+ features to speed up the animation process and

in the past I was only discussing the activate diffuse feature because it was relevant to our conversation.

One of those features I just added was auto import for daz and it works really well it utilizes your AP I and monitors a directory where you save your character and animation and imports the character and animation instantly … And also runs the merge rigs function while leaving the initial easy import daz operator merge rigs set to true and I've noticed that merging the rigs A second time the way I've implemented it cures issues where you bring in a character and the rigs are not merged when using diffeomorphic default

I was hoping that you would watch my youtube video at the link provided To gain more understanding of it …it's 13 minutes but it's an awesome 13 minutes it's a really cool feature that works really well… I had issues uploading it last night but it is uploaded now… The high definition version is still processing though https://youtu.be/2DaU6JFPbSY

as the functionality works so strong and since a lot of people use diffeomorphic and also because I'm sure everybody loves the daz to blender automatic import feature(But it sucks because it doesn't give you the power thatdiffeomorphic gives u and Is difficult to import animations with ) I thought you might test my functionality and think about adding it to diffeomorphic so that a lot of people can benefit from this awesome feature I want nothing out of it just that the daz community is empowered because I'm not sure until I advertise more …if a lot of people might find my add on right off the bat and get to use this feature right away… it's not about the money….

I mean there's is coming out with TAFI and this would be a way to really improve the fun when more people start to jump on board and use that because they'll need to use diffeomorphic with it otherwise get long though perfect…render times in daz… Then because so many people use diffeomorphic if they had this functionality they would have more fun and maybe be more prone to purchase items off the daz store and then were in the background helping daz studio which gives us so much… To me that's the main focus is that daz & you guys are supported

@ Thomas Larsson My add on basically just installs the diffeomorphic add on from a folder inside my own add-ons install folder I do package diffeomorphic with it but it remains unchanged except for the renaming of the module folder to import _daz … It appears it's OK because of the information you posted about the code license that I included with my add on let me know if I'm mistaken The reason why I did it is I figured because you guys provide an api And it's commonplace to include files in software from python libraries I figured this was still in the same ballpark….

Has a bonus if he guys have anything that you wanna advertise or any way you want me to change the way I represent your addon or its functionality let me know and I could use my out on as a vehicle to help you in your ventures as well

In a nutshell I have a special folder you save your DAZ character to it and A pose preset to the pose folder inside it and then you save the DBZ file to the same folder as the character

open up blender tick the monitor check box on the FAST DIFFEOMORPHIC panel then your character is imported with animation all you have to do is add the audio on frame 1 for your mimic animation and that's all you have to do

and the other good thing about my add on is you just line up the viewport so it's looking where you want your camera to be and click another button it adds the camera and then Then I like to add an EV Express lighting setup in one click and then I have one more button on my header of my timeline that I click and that renders the viewport with viewport render animation ain five minutes from EV render mode for a 250 frame animation

so that's why it's so good what I'm telling you about … overall this functionality really makes for an awesome experience because you could get to the render stage super fast

you should really watch the video it's really cool it shows all this… The way I designed my add on it really takes a lot of button clicks out of using diffeomorphic I'm not saying I'm any better than you I mean you guys have made the epic most best thing ever i'm just figuring out all these ways to improve it and when I release an update or at anytime you could look and see what I've implemented and see if there's any things you could add to your processes to remove button clicks because removing button clicks from processes is vital to the enjoyment of it…. (I implement new things like every couple days like tomorrow it'll be automatic turning off of overlays when you run any of my transform XYZ buttons so you could see what you're doing )

All my research for designing and adding features to my add on revolves completely around diffeomorphic as the center so everything I add will in some way improve the enjoyment of diffeomorphic… Which is important because it would take a crap load of resources to even trump what you guys have done Importing daz characters into blender is what we all do so think of me as some guy in the background that's constantly doing research to improve how much fun that process is so anytime you can look what I got because you know you know I'm constantly looking at what you guys have implemented…

If you ever get a chance just read all the tool tips in my add on and create a scene and get to the render stage you wanna look at each tool tip and my documentation is a little light right now but it's well documented in tool tips and just see how much time you save

For instance there's a 4 buttons on the timeline That sets a jump button next to tem to 1 5 10 or 15 frames so while you're moving morph sliders to animate body morphs that you bring in with you just click the 15 button and then move a body morph slider and then Click the jump button and you're already 15 frames ahead the exact frame rate that many character animation tutorials teach you to move ahead before you know setting the next blocked out motion in a walk cycle sometimes they say 10.. But it's like 200 different features like this that make scene setup in character animation just a breeze to work with…

Anyways take care and feel free to let me know if I need to explain anything better

also if you watch the tutorial you can see that I've supplied a theme with my FAST addon that perfectly matches I think it's DAZ Studio City limits light so worst case scenario you get a awesome theme for blender, Apologize if the video is too fast paced I've been studying Ian Huberts quick tutorial methods but my tutorials always run longer so there you go🤣... It is verified for accuracy …and and just realize the render example of what I do is at the end and it does look beautiful

  5. Alessandro Padovani

Thank you for your explanations. I did watch your video and my opinion was based on it. I can’t see new features, apart a diffeomorphic wrapper with solid mode as default. There’s some tools to modify the workflow but that’s it, and I don’t see much difference between loading a daz animation directly or saving it first in a temp folder.

But again that’s my own opinion so others may very well find your work useful. I do appreciate your enthusiasm and good willing here.

  6. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

well you're saving button clicks you'll have a more streamline workflow it imports the animation automatically so you get the experience of right when your character comes in it's animated just like dazz in it verifies the rigs are merged by doing it again because sometimes that rig merge doesn't work on all characters…..

This is a really nice experience of saving clicks in your process you could output more work that way I mean did you see when I added the camera it was just one click and when I rendered it was just 1 click and when I added the lights it was just 1 click that's a serious workflow … I did notice a bug importing multiple characters and that'll be fixed tomorrow so you know

  7. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

Just for a note there was an issue importing multiple characters I just fixed that and getting ready to upload an update after I test it really good… Just for a note I'm kinda new to programming so if you guys ever need some extra money and wanna check over my work let me know
