Morphs That change The Rest Pose

Issue #1638 invalid
Jasper29 created an issue

Hey guys, I have a minor quick question-- I have a character all set up and found that I wanted to edit the breasts further without re-

editing and importing character back over, so I imported some custom morphs for it. When importing breasts large and small

morphs (Zev0’s Breast Control), I get “Found morphs that want to change the rest pose”. After clicking okay, testing out the morphs

and checking the armature’s Rest Pose, everything SEEMS to be fine. My question is, is this message nothing to really worry about,

and will it affect things like animation, retargeting etc. Just wondering, because I spent a lot of time with this character setting up

things like SSS and whatnot, and would rather not have to edit back in DAZ and bring her over again.

EDIT: Also another question is--is there a way to completely delete morphs from the morph panel (I know this was talked about before but I don’t remember what was said, sorry), besides making them inactive?

As I understand it ERC morphs can be used only with the daz rig, not with mhx/rigify, because ERCs don’t work fine with ik. But the morphs may partially work without the rest pose modification, whether or not this is an issue depends on the morph and the animation you need to do.

As for removing morphs there are tools in the advanced section.

Daz ERC morphs change the rest pose of a bone. This means that the pivot point change, which can be essential in some cases. The plugin has support for such morphs, but it is turned off by default for performance reasons, see https://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/2021/09/morphing-armatures.html. My guess is this rest pose change is rather small for breast morphs, and if so it is better not to load them, i.e. leave the ERC Morphs option disabled.
