Issue with ?UVs on importing new characters into blender 4.2
I’ve installed the latest download to blender 4.2. After importing, without material merging or any settings enabled, the torso, neck, and legs area’s UV are incorrect. I’ve tried manually trying to fix the issue but I’ve not been able to find the fix.
It seems to be ?unlinked/incorrect UV map?

reporter From some messing around, it seems that the texture coordinates node does not seem correct. However, even copying that node from a geograft, i am still unable to get the correct UV Layout.
This seems to a repeat of Issue 2122?

Please provide a test scene as simple as possible.

reporter I apologize. I think this issue might be just a setting in that the UV map is incorrectly disabled/enabled? After restarting and reimporting, the UV maps are imported, but the only issue is that the wrong UV map is loaded. And that merging geografts during the initial quick load” doesn’t seem to merge correctly. But it works by merging manually (i.e. under the finishing tab)

Again, you need to provide a test scene, as simple as possible. Otherwise we can’t “magically“ foresee what the bug could be, if any.

Sorry, I was having some trouble trying to pack the images into the file. This is just the mesh itself without textures. Packing it would result in a 1GB file

Not the blend file that you can’t upload because of the DAZ EULA and it’s not useful anyway. We need the duf file with reference of the used assets.
See #2129.

What assets is your scene using ? Please link the product pages.
p.s. Keep the scene as simple as possible, if some assets are not needed to reproduce the issue then remove them.

reporter I am using
Lycoris for the skin textures and shape

Ok, will try Lycoris with golden palace and let you know what I find. I don’t think the hair or outfits should matter in this case.

In your test scene you’re using some other materials I get missing textures. Please link the product page. Again, are these necessary to rise the issue ?

4.2.0.2231
Your test scene has missing files so you need to provide reference. I can’t reproduce the issue with Lycoris and golden palace, they work fine here. The flatten tool shouldn’t be a issue since it just replaces the geograft textures with a projection of the shell textures, so for test purposes it is the same as using material copy without shells.
Of course I suppose you didn’t mess up with the flatten tool, otherwise that could be the issue with your scene. But if so it shouldn’t work in daz studio either.

reporter it seems that the main issue was that I had previously used New Genitalia on the figure and it had loaded a “Surface Genitalia” UV and surface region for the figure, resulting in the figure being reliant on a generated texture from the New Gen script.
On reloading the character without any prior “processing”, the issue has resolved.
I apologize for the trouble caused

reporter - changed status to resolved
Issue was on my end, having not used a clean G8.1F figure, resulting in an additional surface and UV being loaded

- changed status to invalid
fyi both golden palace and ngv8 work fine here, also tried a “flatten“ figure
