Another pose that can't be imported properly with the plugin

Issue #704 resolved
bouich jules created an issue

Hello,

Trying to find the best way for facials animation, i did download Face Mojo - Facial MoCap Retargeting for Genesis 3 Females | Daz 3D

I made a facial animation works perfect in daz, but in blender i don’t get the same EXACT animations + there is absolutely no movement of the head/neck.

video proof: https://streamable.com/h7cszh

I tried to make all bones posable, also tried to edit)figure)bake transforms in daz but still the plugin doesnt import the correct one at 100%.

Pose in attachment,

Thank you so much!

God bless.

Also there is some similarities with Issue #702

because head/neck movement are not imported correctly to blender.

Actually been trying it with the plugin and different test for many hours the whole animation can’t be imported properly unfortunately.

Well tried every possibility in my side, the face mojo animation just can’t be imported to blender properly with all facial and head/neck movement.

i even tried to import those morphs as cusotm morphs:

Also when you bake to transform you lose the head/neck movement.

The facs morphs are imported now. Apparently they have alternative names which the plugin did not know about, hence they were not loaded before. These alternative names are the same as those used by LiveLink. The file also contains animations for a lot of strength morphs which are not found, but they are all equal to 1 so this does not affect the animation.

You need to load the facs morphs before importing the animation. Loading missing morphs on the fly does not work in this case, presumably because the morph names and file names are different, as discussed in #683.

Sorry, I was confused. I looked in the animation file and thought that it contained keys for the basic facs morphs. Things cleared when I looked in the face mojo files.

The head still doesn’t move. The reason is that there is some mismatch between the Blender properties and the channel in the pose preset file. Have to dig into that.

And I think you should take down the link to the face mojo files. They were very useful to me, thank you, but I think that uploading them violates some conditions.

The head is moving now 🙂

However, to make it happen I had to turn on hidden sliders and turn off slider and final limits. The three FM_mocapDriver_rotate properties seem to be given in degrees, but are nevertheless limited to the range [0,1] which doesn’t make sense to me. It is a bit risky to remove the limits since you can easily break things, but it seems unavoidable in this case. Perhaps you should load these three morphs separately and turn on limits when loading the rest.
