Modify an existing color schema

Color schemes are useful because they minimize eye fatigue and can help preserve dark adaptation when observing or imaging. They also serve to improve contrast for aging eyes. ;)

Currently, there are two customizable color schema options: "custom" and "alternative custom". Each must be completely customized from scratch. But what if a user likes a color schema, such as Dark, but only wants to modify the background? There is no way to do that.

Suggestion

It would be very helpful to be able to use an existing color schema as a starting point for creating a custom one.
