Computer see equipment as still being connected to NINA after NINA is closed

Issue #320 closed
Former user created an issue

EXPECTED: Once all equipment has been disconnected from NINA and NINA shut down, the equipment and drivers should be released.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR: After using NINA and disconnecting all devices and shutting down - the computer reports that NINA is still using the equipment when trying to update a driver for one of those pieces of equipment and asks to force NINA to close before proceeding; which it does and the update works.

This is on version 1.9 RC005 - There's no option to choose that version on the drop downs

Hi, could you detail what drivers or devices you’re seeing this issue with?

It might be that some devices' ASCOM driver might not close completely, or are running as Administrator instead of as your user (or vice versa) and an instance of the ASCOM driver is still running and holding open a COM port or the like. This issue is likely a local configuration issue than a bug with NINA.

When it comes to all hardware, NINA does make sure to close it out in the documented was. For ASCOM drivers, it disconnects from each one, and for native camera drivers, the SDK instance is closed out per the documentation for the SDK in question.
