Alnitak Flip Flat 'Invalid_Handle' Errors

Issue #447 on hold
Eric Walden created an issue

I am continuing to have issues with my Alnitak Flip Flat connecting and staying connected. I believe it is a USB communication problem, but need help figuring it out.

When I start a clean boot of Windows I can detect and connect to the FF normally with the Optec app. Open, close and activate the panel no problem. Disconnect in that app and attempt to connect in NINA results in “Invalid response from flat panel” and then if I try to connect in the Optec app it is not detected and I get an ‘Invalid_Handle’ error in that app.

I have tried multiple USB ports, changed the USB port assignment in Device manager, updated drivers, all to no avail.

This may be a USB hardware issue with the Alnitak itself, but has anyone else had these issues or have a potential solution?

Thank you,

Eric

Eric, thank you for sending this! Could you set NINA to debug mode by choosing Debug und Options/General/Log Level? Try again and then attache the log here?

    Thank you

I’ll also add that after the failed attempt to connect in NINA the Optec app can no longer find the flat panel. If I shut down NINA the app can then again find the panel and connect normally. Seems that NINA jams up the port after the failed attempt.

    Thanks
