Which Version are you running? NINA 1.11 nightly 061

Description

The dome is synced to the telescope. Mount is a Skywatcher EQ8-rh connected via ascom EQMOD. Once the scope passes the meridian, the dome immediately changes position (to accommodate for the new position after the meridian flip) without however the meridian flip to have taken place yet (it is set to happen 5 minutes AFTER it passes the meridian).

Steps to Reproduce

  • Enable syncing of nexdome with telescope
  • Slew to a target near the meridian (within the next 10 minutes)
  • Start a simple sequence, with automatic meridian flip enabled for 30 minutes
  • Wait for the scope to pass the meridian

Expected behaviour

The meridian flip is set to occur 5 minutes after the scope passes the meridian. The dome should stay synced along the scope, while waiting for the meridian flip to start (which might be delayed due to ongoing capture)

Actual behaviour

The dome moves to the new position, the second the scope passes the meridian, 5 minutes earlier, without the mount slewing at all. Then after 5 minutes the meridian flip starts as scheduled. In these 5 minutes before the meridian flip, the dome is in the wrong position, resulting in the dome wall blocking the scope

The issue seems to be resolved, by enabling the option “Use telescope side of pier” from the Options > Imaging > Auto Meridian Flip.

In my case, it was necessary to also restart NINA after making this change in order to work.
