Salesforce Spring '23 / API v57.0 updates

Issue #2314 resolved
Scott Wells repo owner created an issue

Placeholder for updates required to support Spring '23 API v57.0 changes/features. A build with support will be provided the Monday after the new version has been released into all orgs worldwide, so in this case February 13, 2023.

It appears that the final Spring '23 push has been canceled/postponed in some instances/orgs:

    https://status.salesforce.com/maintenances/519119

I’ve contacted folks at Salesforce to better understand what this means, but the IC2 Spring '23/v57.0 update cannot be released to all users until all orgs have been updated as it expects all orgs to respond to the v57.0 SOAP and REST APIs.

Assuming it is postponed, what I will likely do is make a build of the latest released version of IC2 with all of the Spring '23 changes available here for those who want to begin using it, and once all orgs have been successfully updated to Spring '23, I will include those changes in an official IC2 build.

I’ll provide additional details--and a Spring '23 build if appropriate--once I have more information myself.

UPDATE: I have received confirmation from Salesforce that the Spring ‘23 release has been delayed in some instances/orgs, likely until next weekend (don’t quote me on that). I will make the Spring '23 update of IC2 available as an attachment here no later than Monday morning for those who wish to use it before an official build is available, likely February 20, 2023.

UPDATE 2: As indicated below, I’ve attached a build with Spring '23 / API v57.0 support to this issue with installation instructions in the associated comment.

UPDATE 3: Spring ‘23 is now available in all instances/orgs. At this point I’ll just plan to merge the Spring ‘23 IC2 release with the standard weekly release on Thursday as it doesn’t make much sense to release once on Wednesday and again the next morning.

As mentioned previously, here is a build that includes Spring '23 / API v57.0 support. It is otherwise the current released build, 2.2.5.6, and is versioned to ensure that when a new official build is posted, you will still be prompted to update if on this build.

You can install it by downloading (but not extracting) the plugin archive and using Settings / Preferences > Plugins > Install plugin from disk (under the gear drop-down menu). Allow the IDE to restart and you will be using this build.

If you install it and find any issues, please file them as new entries here in the public issue tracker.
