Luchuirp buildings

Issue #3 open

I had a few suggestions regarding Luchuirp unique buildings. Since they are generally considered as a weak civ, they could get a significant buff via customization of golems through unique buildings. This proposal is missing the credit for some suggestions (see the two posts at the end). I would not mind having a building for each mana type (this may be undesirable or impossible for some mana types such as Life), although I would need to see how this interacts with BUILDINGCLASS_CIV_BUILDINGN building classes. It could also be desirable to introduce some mechanism to change the promotions applied to a certain golem somehow (IIRC some modmods have a mechanism like this). I would also prefer to introduce a new UNITCOMBAT for golems to implements the promotion granting mechanic properly instead of through python.

  • Earth mana based building that gives golems +1 first strike. Tech requirements not decided yet.

  • Force mana based building that gives golems the equivalent of a halved Magic Resistance promotion. Tech requirements not decided yet.

  • Ice mana based building that gives golems 5% recovery after combat (the logic behind this is that they are supossed to be "unchanging"). Tech requirements not decided yet.

  • Metamagic mana based building that gives them Mobility I. It would require Stirrups and Sorcery (it could have simpler requirements).

  • Water mana based building that gives golems Water Walking. It would require Astronomy and Elementalism (it could have simpler requirements).

I was thinking on allowing Luchuirp who (once it is implemented) follow the White Hand to build Ice Golems. I'm not sure if it is appropiate lore-wise, though.

I think that it IS somewhat lore appropriate, as iirc Mulcarn forced the Luchuirp to build many of his Ice Golems during the waning years of the age of magic/ waxing years of the age of ice. As they were the primary force to fight the coming winter, I believed they worked as 'slaves' at best. Therefore to follow the White Hand would probably be against most of their cultural norms and mores ... however if they did somehow convert and follow Mulcarn ... then yes I could see them building Ice Golems.
