16-bit tiff files not read by Photoshop
Hello, I repeated the following several times and perhaps here’s a bug. I open a NEF file with the neutral profile, then save as 16-bit uncompressed tiff. On my Linux-machine I can read this file as usual (Gimp, gThumb…). But when I send it to a Windows laptop and try to open this tiff in Photoshop, a program called (Adobe) Camera RAW is launched and shows me a garbled screen, see screenshot.
I must add that I’m new to Photoshop, the last version I used was v6, long time ago.
When I repeat the same procedure in RawTherapee, PS reads that 16-bit tiff well. Both Art and RT are up-to-date (today’s versions). So perhaps something wrong in ART?
Regards, Paul.

Hey, you're right! The tiff opens fine now after stripping the metadata.
Attached is one of the offending files (97MB).
Regards, Paul.

repo owner can you try with the attached patch applied and see if it works also with metadata? thanks!

reporter Hello, perhaps later this Evening, Else tomorrow (have to recall how to apply à patch. Did that before, but I'm not a programmer !). 🙃

repo owner cd /path/to/ART; patch -p1 < metadata.patch

reporter Ah, that shortcut was welcome! Thou ART perfect! The 16-bit tiff loads well now in Photoshop CC.
As a side note. I remarked already that you are often very responsive to people on pixls.us. This quick patch is another example and gives me again the impression that you must be a Fine Person, someone who cares about his software. Nice to meet you!

I would guess this is a metadata issue. Can you please:
? Thanks!
