Unclear state and objective of the project

Issue #167 closed
yannikh created an issue

In the last years I managed an Emailserver myself by settings everything up. In the meantime my configuration is not up to date anymore as it lacks things like DMARC and updating the concert with all the components is also time consuming. Thus I was looking for a solution that reduces my administration overhead and still does what I need.

poste.io seems to do the right thing, however I do have a couple of issues. Some of them are very general (such as #130) and some are more specific. I'd be glad to pay for the pro version to support the project, but also to get some support with problems I have.

However I opened ticket #129 and #130 nearly half a year ago and did not even get a "won't fix" response. #129 is just a request where I'd understand if nothing happens, but #130 seems to me like there is something really broken and no one cares.

Sorry for abusing the ticket system for asking, however I found no hint on how to "ask before I buy" on the website and my email that I sent to info@analogic.cz in December is still unanswered.

This makes me feel like to project might be discontinued or is more like an unimportant side project for you (that is OK as well, if it would be completely open (as in open repository where we can create pull requests) I could also see if I can help with some problems (there was some slight discussion about that in #29)).

Anyway: Please let us know what the state of project is and what your plans are :-).

    Hi Yannikh,

I tried emailing them and just bounced. I don't know who to contact and suspect that this project is dead.

This is a great shame, because like you I am very interested.

6 years ago I configured my own mail server ( postfix/mysql/sa/clam/dovecot/RC/opendkim) and would prefer something lighter weight and easier to configure. Poste.io looked a vert good alternative even if qmail is dead and we can only patch upon patch upon patch. I would like to see this working with Docker Swarm across many containers providing multiple IP points of access using a floating IP redirection to the right geographic server , and data replication....

I hope they decide to continue this project or at least open source the rest of the paid features.

    Kind regards, Soph.

    Hello,

no need to worry, poste.io development is not stalled.

I guess in two or three weeks there will be lot of work done. Poste.io development will always be in cycles and rather slow moving than every day changes.
