dmarc-records@ emails in poste.io free

Issue #718 resolved
Jan Vokas created an issue

Hi, I’ve found probably a bug.

Seems that free version of poste.io where DMARC reporting is not applicable/available “eats” dmarc-reports@ emails. They are’nt delivered anywhere nor forwarded/aliased based on vital configuration.

From delivery log I just observed that email for dmarc-reports@mydomain.tld are 250 Message Queued! but then message is processed somewhere to the void. I’d expect that in free poste.io version dmarc-reports@ will be processed as a regular email. As an workaround I’ve configured my dmarc DNS records to use dmarc-report@mydomain.tld (without s) which solved my issue.

Don’t know if it is a bug, but it might be covered in documentation if it is a feature.

Best Regards,
Jan

Ok, just realised that dmarc-report xmls (if they are sent specifically to dmarc-reports@domain.tld) are stripped out from the email and saved to /var/log/dmarc/domain.tld/file.xml, original mail is purged and it is done by haraka js module.

So this is not a bug, but a feature - It would be perfect to note this behaviour somewhere in the DOC and/or some clickable option in configuration to turn on/off this behaviour like Extract dmarc-reports from emails ON/OFF
