Question about changelog 2.2.29 - 20210126 hotfix “fix automatical blocking of limited senders“
Issue #842
resolved
Hi,
We’ve recently had multiple users complaining to be blacklisted without clear reason (< 5 wrong password entered when trying to login the admin panel). Their IPs got listed in the automated blacklists, citing a “too many connections“ reason. Karma was also a bit bad (for instance 1 good connection for 10 bad).
We’ve read on the changelog an hotfix has been deployed: “fix automatical blocking of limited senders“.
Could you elaborate on what was going wrong, what’s this hotfix doing exactly? We’re trying to understand if this should fix the issue we observed or not, and what our issue was exactly.
Thanks!

After looking at the new image content the fix seems to be related to users with limits applied on them, as also stated in the changelog. We’ve also realized our blacklisting issue doesn’t seem related to that and we’ve opened another ticket for our specific issue: https://bitbucket.org/analogic/mailserver/issues/843/abusive-blacklists-resulting-from-many-501. Closing this one.
