Cannot activate the extension because it depends on the "Git" extension, which is not loaded
I’m getting this when I open VS Code. The message continues with “Would you like to reload the window to load the extension?” but clicking on “Reload Window” doesn’t fix it.
As far as I know, there isn’t a Git extension per se - it is core functionality in VS Code.
Extension version is 2.1.5
VSCode version is 1.41.0-insider
OS is Windows 10 64-bit

reporter My apologies - I’m using the remote development functionality.
I’ve only recently installed the extension because we use Server products. I’m pretty sure it was working with Remote WSL but I couldn’t be 100% certain about it, I’m afraid,

Marking this as a duplicate of 279 since slightly more conversation has taken place there. Basically something changed in Insiders and right now we’re not sure if it’s an API change or a bug on their end.
-
More recent versions of VS Code Insiders should no longer have this bug.

Philip,
Are you running VS Code locally or are you using the remote development functionality?
Also, has the extension been working for you and this problem just recently appeared?
