I’m also having this same issue. I either see a broken image icon, or a square with a broken image icon.

I’m using the latest and greatest…

    macOS Mojave (v10.14.5)
    VScode (v1.36.1)
Extension - Jira and Bitbucket Plugin (v1.4.2)

Are there any plans to fix this? This is huge problem and blocker for me as our issues are mostly presented on screenshots.

    Hi @Ksawery Karwacki

We are aware of this issue and agree it’s super frustrating. Unfortunately there’s not a simple fix due to the way Jira and Bitbucket secure images. We are working with both of those teams to find a solution. Hang tight.

Thanks for keeping us updated Jonathan. I would proposed in the meantime, you show a placeholder image, or make reference to an image. It would tighten up the UI and make it much more usable until a fix is available.

Good suggestion. 2.1.1 now uses a reasonably sized placeholder until we can resolve the core issue! Thanks!

We have made some progress internally with Jira server instances. We don’t have a complete working solution yet but we have a pretty good idea of what we need to do. For Jira cloud, we have reached out to some internal teams to help us remove a couple of things that are blocking us right now.

    Hang tight!

Note to watchers: while this does not have a resolution yet, this is a high priority for us.

Thanks, really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the extension is no use to me at the moment, but I’ll reinstall once this bug gets squashed!

Any update on it? Indeed it is useless when working with images attached to issues 😞

We are still working on a solution. I’m also curious if it would help as an intermediate step if we simply showed the link to the image in the text instead of a broken image> At least then you could click the link and open the image in a browser. I know that’s not the greatest solution but maybe it might help until we nail this down?

@{557057:3695b794-cde3-43a2-99aa-c0fc6151b754} IMHO won’t help a lot - having few images need to open several browsers/cards. Then better to open the issue and link for that already exists. So looking forward final solution 🙂

    Hi guys. Any progress?

I'm still using the plug-in, but being able to see the images is a must because our team relays on images to describe the issues ( …videos too, but that’s another story 🤣 ).

Thanks for the hard work. Regards.

    Yes, it will be helpfull

In the meanwhile you don’t have a proper fix to show images, can you at least make the attachment list clickable? Thank you!

We have released version 2.8.0 of the extension which shows inline images in issue description and comments.

If it is still a problem, please reopen this issue (or open a new issue). Thanks!
