Golgotha Game-Crashing Bug

Issue #10688 resolved
Zurasuta created an issue

I’m playing on version 2.0.206.53.

Making Issue #10685 I remembered an actually game-breaking, plot-blocking bug in Golgotha. I didn’t submitted it before because I didn’t knew how, and although it happened multiple times, I couldn’t seem to be able to replicate it on demand.

When I was doing the “More Than a Willing Spirit” quest, (Go to Golgotha to recover a waydroid), all of my initial attempts were stopped by the game crashing at an apparently random moment. I managed to “overcome” the bug by dropping and sprinting my way to recover the waydroid and use the Grit Grate Recoiler to get out of there immediately.

I think this happened when I was still in version 206.50.

I made a copy of my current save, the one I used for Issue #10685 and went to Golgotha again and the bug still happens. It seems to trigger everytime there are chute crabs spawning or around but I can’t be sure. I managed to replicated it twice on video just by playing and hanging around until it crashed. I’m attaching two recordings of the last 1:20 minutes but I have the whole records since the moment I jump down. I don’t know how helpful can they be tho.

In both of the replicated cases, the bug happen when the character was waiting. In one of them the character was resting until healed, and in the other one, it was just passing a turn. In both cases there were chute crabs present. The floors are different each time tho. In one of them it was in the first sub-floor, and in the other one, it was in the second or third.

The save I’m attaching has the character besides Golgotha’s surface, just in case.

I have two mods installed: “The Qud Survival Guide: a (mostly) lore-friendly tutorial mod for Caves of Qud”, and the “Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself” which basically just adds the function to ask creatures their name and remember them.
