Channel video goes black on PAUSE from Live TV

Issue #163 resolved
prl created an issue

If you press PLAY/PAUSE while in Live TV, the video pauses, but the channel video display goes black. The infobar and timeshift progress bar are displayed normally.

If you press PLAY/PAUSE again, and let the video play, the channel video comes back.

If you press it again, you see a freeze frame of the channel video with the infobar, as expected.

Pausing using PAUSE/PLAY should always show a freeze frame of the channel video.

Reproduction steps

In Live TV, press PLAY/PAUSE. The channel video goes black, but the infobar and timeshift progress bar are shown overlaid.

Press PLAY/PAUSE again, normal timeshifted video starts.

Press PLAY/PAUSE again, you get a freeze frame of the channel bar with the infobar and timeshift progress bar overlaid.

That's not my experience. When I press PLAY/PAUSE the first time, timeshift mode is entered. I get a brief flash of a black screen (fraction of a second) and then the freezeframe image is displayed.

Once in the timeshift mode pressing PLAY/PAUSE stops and starts video playback without any black screens.

The behaviour has changed in the recent firmware. It now presents a black screen on entry.

Also maybe relevant. When Paused using 1,3 4,6 7,9 stepping does not change the picture until Play is resumed.

I performed some more tests. It seems that the black screen problem is only present on HDMI output.
