Cannot Drop TButton on Form

Issue #205 new
Former user created an issue

If you select the Linux 64 target and attempt to place a Tbutton on the form, you cannot. You have to switch to Windows, place the button on the form and then switch the target back to Linux to deploy it.

Also, applications fail on Elementary OS even though it is based on Ubuntu. Is there is a list of supported distros?

This is my bug report. I am running elementary OS 0.4.1 Loki (64 bit), Built on "Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS", Linux 4.15.0-45-generic, GTK+ 3.18.9. My understanding is that FmxLinux requires GTK. Any particular version or other requirements?

I also thought I would let you know that the PAServer on Linux reports ">Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.". The app is a simple one form, button on the form, click the button and it changes the form's caption. The form appears, but clicking the button does not work. The only thing that does, is clicking the close button on the form.

I am going to try upgrading to Elementary OS 5

    Larry,

I have tested the ControlsDemo on elementary OS 5.0, but it did not work correctly as I reported it already:

I can select the File and Help and its menupoints, but I can't select the TabControl's Tabitems (Standard, Addicional, etc...) by mouse. I can't select the component on the Standard Tabitem by mouse.

Thanks for the info. I have looked at other Distros, but I'm a Linux novice, so not sure what the best choice would be. Thinking perhaps CentOS which is essentially RHEL with the Gnome Shell environment. Any suggestions?

I am also getting sporadic PAServer failures with 10.3.1 on elementary OS with both CrossVCL and FmxLinux. PA Server fails with a

    EInOutError: I/O error 11

Not sure if this is related.

I will try to install Elementaty OS and check. As for "EInOutError: I/O error 11" it is PASServer issue.

I have tested the ControlsDemo on elementary OS 5.0, I can use the components correctly, but it shows the form not well. I have tried it on VMWare and different real PCs using an boot elementary OS 5.0 USB stick, but the results were the same.
