Game versions do not tally

Former user created an issue 2015-01-28

My steam version claims to be Linux 5.2747, yet my downloaded version claims to be 0.4.2747

I saw this and then had to check it out. The updater file claims I'm running 4.2747; I wonder if this is why the native Linux version doesn't have the pretty splash screen I see in the steam version...

I just launched the two versions, fully updated and the steam one reports 0.5 R2809. The Linux64 version claims to be 0.4 R909

This seems to be 64bit only. I've installed 32bit libs and run the 32bit version and this is running the current version, but the 64bit build, fully updated this very minute, is still claiming to be 0.4 R909
