Add 'Layout' under 'Detail' section in left side toolbar

Add 'Layout' as a section under 'Detail' in the left side toolbar. Currently it is accessible only in the main 'File' menu as 'Export pattern (layout)'

Creating a layout is an action that must be taken prior to printing a pattern. Adding 'Layout' under 'Detail' makes this action more accessible.

So we're going to have an 'auto layout' feature instead.

I think the 'Layout' icon on the top bar should show the layout if one has been created.

A 'Layout' section in the left menu is needed because that's where all the actions are. In the 'Layout' section, there could be an 'Auto layout' icon, and a 'Tweak layout' icon.

Since there are three distinct modes of action in working with patterns: Draw mode, Details mode, and Layout mode I think there should be some consistency between these modes.
You may think that since the actions of Details mode and Layout mode are so different then the icons can be in different places and have different style, etc. But the user doesn't see things like that. Forcing a bit of 'sameness' to these different modes will make the whole program more easy to use.
