seam allowance

Issue #534 closed
Former user created an issue

Hello!

I'm drawing a pair of shorts on Valentina and I would like to add seam allowance only on certain points.

Is it possible to make seam allowance on front part of pants without including the seam allowance on the slope?

Yes, make your seam allowance open. For this go to Detail's options and uncheck option "Closed".

Hi Roman, it still doesn't work well, because the slope still gets the seam allowance even with closed unchecked.Screen Shot 2016-07-28 at 9.01.34 AM.png

I dont want to slope any points. I would like to apply seam allowance only to the points A27, A11, A16, A17. Is it possible? And is it also possible to add a differente width of seam allowance from point A15 to A17? For example, have a seam allowance that is 1cm on the points I mentioned above and have a seam allowance of 3cm on the points A15 to A17?

No. You can do it only for two points. For example A16, A17. If you really need it for more than two points you should create another issue with feature request.

Yes, look at Bias options. Select point you need and modifier bias value.

    Hi Roman,

I am really happy to have your feedback promptly. Congratulations for such beautiful project.

I downloaded Valentina 2 days ago and im a newbie to programming, and all that comes with it.

The bias options is located on the seam allowance tool? I cant seem to apply bias value to an individual point, only to the whole detail. How do I change the bias value of a certain point?

Yes, you can find it on your screenshot (Bias X, Bias Y).

You can't apply bias to whole detail. Select point you need and modifier bias value.

    Hi Roman,

Thankyou very much for the help. As you can see in my screenshot I was able to solve the matter, however I had another problem. My seam allowance is 0.7, when I tried to use the bias on the spline Spl_A7_X to subtract the seam allowance, it seams that is subtracts more than the applied value (0.7).

Btw I have already read the user manual and watched the tutorial u sent, but I need some "for dummies" instructions.
