GapWidth affecting to the margins

Issue #595 resolved
Timo Virtaneva created an issue

The GapWidth value is affecting to the margin values. If the total value more than the width of the paper, the pattern cannot be printed.

Here is an example. If the GapWidth is 0,03 cm is prints OK. If the value is 2 cm, it cannot be printed.

The issue is to show that the GapWidth is affecting if the pattern piece can be printed or not. If I set the GapWidth to the smallest value, it can be printed with the paper margins.

I tested the printing. With GapWidth 0.03 cm the print out was perfect. The piece is printable.

I don't see an issue here.

The problem is that I have to change the GapWidth to the minimum to able to print the patten pieces. Alter that all pieces are next to each other and those are difficult cut out.

The GapWidth should NOT be in the print margin.

    I see this as problem.

In other words you want a gap between pieces, but not between paper sheet and piece?

The GapWidth should NOT be in the print margin.

Gap doesn't do anything with printer margins. It makes equidistant around a piece. The piece became bigger. You just don't see it.

Yes, Correctly. The paper margin should be the value between the piece and paper edge. The GapWidth should be the value between pattern pieces.

Okay. Quick look shows that i can do what you have asked.

    Thanks. I appreciate.

You contributor i always dreamed about. I like work with you. :)

Yes, of course. The goal is to be able print as big patterns as possible on to paper. On the roll paper the width is the limiting factor.

I think you did not understand me. I ask do you think we should try to do the same for top and bottom?

  11. Timo Virtaneva reporter

    Sorry of the misunderstanding.

Yes, it should be the same. In the layout setting there is the adjustable margin in all directions including top and bottom. I think that people are used to use those values.
