Looks like since Qt 5.8 they changed minimal supported Mac OS X version to 10.9. I will update that. But i will need your help to prove that i am right and this is the reason why you can't start the app.

This is bad. I will need to install version 10.12 and look what is wrong. Sorry.

@EmsellemT, i just checked on Sierra, Valentina runs without any warning. Do you know how to use a Terminal? Can you run Valentina in it? You will need command open -a Valentina.

ugh i know how to use it but i'm not too sure about what you asked can you describe exactly what should i do or do you want to take hand on my computer if it's the kind of stuff that you do?

Usually programs write error messages when they runned in terminal. I hope such an error message will help me find out what's wrong.

So, i ask you to open your terminal, go to the folder where you stored Valentina and open it with command open -a Valentina. Post here output.

As i understood there could be several explanations. But because you used bundle that works for me the most promising for me is problem with the Mac system itself. I am not expert in Mac, but here what i have found.

Call this command in terminal: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f Valentina.app then try to open again. This should help with problem.

Are you sure the valentina.app was in folder that was opened in terminal? Before run the command call ls.

i totally don't understant the question you asked . i am so sorry i am this bad:-( Valentina is in my application folder and never moved from it should i put it to another folder?

Your Valentina.app looks very weird. Here what we will do. Download a test build again. Then open the dmg file. Do not copy Valentina to Application folder. Open Valentina inside the dmg.

I have one radical proposal. To build Valentina on your mac. For this i need XCode and Qt installed on your system.

  14. Thibault Emsellem reporter

ok i will search for that online i tell you when it's install just let me find it

  15. Thibault Emsellem reporter

ok it will be ready in a little bit more than 30 minutes, it's downloading all the Gygabytes

you take control of the computer again? might be easier because i totally don't know those apps :-) but i can try if you prefer. :-D

Sorry, forgot to fix the Tape app. :( Tomorrow i will release version with disabled update checker.

Fixed issue #633. Valentina crashes when check for updates on Mac.

This is temporary solution. We just disabled checking in release mode. User still can crash program if go to About Valentina/Tape dialog anf click on button Check update. Such a decidion will left us chance get more bug reports from users.
